Well, Mojo Marshall and I had a very nice conversation about this one – Halloween is coming up super soon and he was looking for some suggestions. Not that he reeeally needs to know, being one of the masterminds over at Switchblade Comb.com, one of the best local sites out there, with a name I wish I would have thought up first…

• First Avenue – Every year there is a huge blowout at First Avenue on Halloween. Frankly, I have never been. But with costume contests that yield ACTUAL money, and hosted by that dreamboat Ian Rans from cable’s Drinking With Ian – it sounds like a good idea to me. Plus I hear it gets pretty wild. Bonus! (8pm/18+/$5 in advance/$10 day of)
• Return To El Guante’s Haunted Basement Apartment Release Show – Guante is seriously one of the most talented individuals I have had the good fortune to work with. As not only a talented poetry slam champion, he’s also a fantastic Hip-Hop artist. (Acadia/9pm/free/all ages)

• The Soap Factory’s Haunted Basement – Yeah, it might be a little off-putting that it costs $15, but I have heard that it’s worth it. Might I suggest a trip over there before you run out and go boozing at your house parties and whatnot…more info HERE
