Little Man Q&A

So, by all accounts, even though I was stuck in the nerd lair trying to shake the plague… the Little Man CD Release show for Of Mind & Matter at The Entry on Saturday night went awesome. I was fully set on running a much more concise Q&A way earlier last week, but my mind was in about 17 other places, none of those you actually need to know about…

p.s. Chris Pericelli is one of the nicest, most talented musicians in Minneapolis. Without a doubt.

The short, but always sweet Q & A after the click…

tbp: What would you say are the differences between the new record and your last release, Soulful Automatic?

Chris Pericelli: Soulful Automatic was recorded with four different producers. Of Mind And Matter is produced by one of those producers, Ed Tinly, a friend I’ve been recording with for many years. This new album has more vocals and guitar layers and includes strings and maybe a few more acoustic tracks. Of Mind And Matter is a digitally downloadable album instead of a CD format and includes documentary videos, lyrics, notes and pictures.

tbp: You have a fabulous stage presence – where do you think that comes from? Is it a mostly from your rock and roll heart or is it something that is learned?
CP: You said it just right! It comes from my rock and roll heart. I love to perform and show my passion. I want to turn people on and engage them in the experience.

(and of course, my Tiger Beat-esque question that I just had to ask.)

tbp: Do you get nervous on days like this, when you have a CD Release show or do you spend the day super excited?

CP: No, I don’t really get nervous, this is what I do, so I get real excited to play. I just want to get up there and get into it.

(and that’s what makes Chris Pericelli a rock star, and me a nervous-stomached writer/blogger)
